The Discover. Imagine. Grow. (D.I.G) Outreach Program is a weekly early learning series aimed at children aged 3-5 yearsold, that promotes the development of language and literacy,reading and writing, math and science, and social, emotional,and physical well-being through engaged learning. As part of the The Sandbox’s Community Early Learning Initiative (SCELI),the Discover. Imagine. Grow. (D.I.G) Outreach Program will encourage and guide young children to develop the foundation skills needed for their success in learning and in life through the guise of play and hands-on exploration.
This program will complement the work being done by parents and caregivers and will include them in the learning process aswell as provide ideas for them to continue to foster growth and curiosityoutside the museum through Parent Connection Cards. Some topics to be explored include “Your Five Senses”, “How’s TheWeather?”, “Staying Healthy”, “Digging Up the Past”, “Counting,Organizing, Classifying”, “The World We Live In”, “Lets Get Creative”,and “Loving Literature”.
This weekly, 1-hour program will be offered at The Sandbox on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am September - May while school is in session and is included in the admission fees to the museum. First come first serve, space limited. FREE for members.
